Fueling the ISIS Fire – Rachel Ehrenfeld – Under growing criticism of handling the war against ISIS, the Obama administration decided to send more weapons to the Iraqi army and has already sent the first shipment of the 2,000 AT4 anti-tank missiles to be used against ISIS driven American tanks and armored vehicles that the withdrawing Iraqi army left behind. How long will it take before these missiles will join the more than an estimated $1 billion worth of mostly American made Iraqi weapons that have been already captured by ISIS? ”…more…
What if the Iranian Deal Fails? – Aaron Shenhar – There is no question that the nuclear deal with Iran is risky. Even its supporters, and of course Obama himself, admit that it may not work. The question of course, is the extent of risk and the cost we would pay in case of failure. Opponents and supporters would clearly disagree on the extent of risk, but it is reasonable to assume that just based on their recent statements; Obama’s supporters would rank the risk at 20% or even higher. As we will see, that level is unacceptable….we must also assess the cost of failure.…more…
US Risky Economic Recovery – Norman Bailey – The US remains Israel’s most important market, but its economic recovery is stalling. In recent years the Israeli government and the Israeli private sector have been very busy diversifying export markets and sources of financing and investment. They have concentrated on South Asia and the Far East, especially but not only India, China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. These countries and others have proven to be vital resources for the Israeli economy and in the case of China, an eager participant in joint educational projects as well…more…
Obama Doesn’t Understand Israel – Yossi Kuperwasser – As an Israeli familiar with U.S.-Israeli relations, I would like to set the record straight on President Obama’s recent comments in The Atlantic and at the Adas Israel synagogue. First, let me stress the shared values that anchor the U.S.-Israel relationship, as well as the gratitude I and every Israeli feel for the president’s unwavering support for our country. I also want to make clear that I have no issue with the president’s public criticism of our policies, even if it reveals differences between our two countries. We’ve gotten used to the criticism, and our relationship is strong enough to endure it. With that said, though, there are a few things I need to get off my chest…more…
Another UN Step to Legitimize Jihadist Hamas – Rachel Ehrenfeld – As if the Jihadist terror group ISIS wasn’t enough, twelve of the United Nations Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations moved today towards legitimizing jihad against Israel by granting NGO statues to Hamas’s London branch, the Palestinian Return Center (PRC). China, Cuba, Iran, Pakistan, Sudan, Turkey and Venezuela, supported the decision, while Greece, India and Russia abstained. Only Israel, the United States and Uruguay opposed the decision. In 2010, the Israeli government identified the Palestinian Return Center (PRC) as a “an organizational and a coordinating wing of Hamas in Europe” and designated it as terrorist…more…
