Tariq Jamil is a Pakistani religious and Islamic leader, a member of Tablighi Jamaat and a scholar who runs a Madrasa Jamia Al Hasanain in Faisalabad, Pakistan.
Tariq Jamil is one the speakers at RIS 2018 – Reviving the Islamic Spirit Convention in Toronto (December 21-23, 2018).
In a video entitled “Advice to Muslims in the West”, Tariq Jameel explains the duties of the Muslim wife to her husband based on the teachings of Mohammad, the prophet of Islam:
The Prophet says ‘He will be close to my house in Jannah [paradise], who has good character and he who treats his wife well’. Then Allah explained to to the wives. A woman came to the messenger of Allah and said: ‘O messenger of Allah, my marriage is taking place, what right does my husband have over me.’ So the Prophet said “If there are wounds on him and in them pus develops [dirty white water], pus and you clean his wounds by licking them clean, even then you have not fulfilled his rights.” What did he [Mohammad] explain to men, “the best Muslim is he who treats his wife well” and what did he explain to the women, that ‘obedience to men is such that in my shariah if prostration to anyone besides Allah was permissible [it is not but if it was] then I would tell the wife to prostrate in front of the husband i.e. obey him.
In a lecture posted on the YouTube channel of Montreal’s Al-Andalous Islamic Center on June 17, 2016, Canadian Imam Wael Al-Ghitawi discussed the wife’s obligations toward her husband in accordance with Islam. Al-Ghitawi said that she must not refuse her husband’s conjugal rights and must not leave the house without his permission. He cited a hadith according to which the Prophet Muhammad said that “if [a husband] has a boil oozing pus, anywhere from head to toe, the wife will not be doing him full justice even if she licks it clean.”
