The Islamic Foundation of Toronto, located at 441 Nugget Avenue, Toronto, Ontario posted on April 4, 2018 the following statement:
The Islamic Foundation of Toronto would like to hereby clarify that we have come to know some unknown persons have distributed “Hizb ut Tahrir” flyers and or material outside our premises, after congregational prayers.
“Hizb ut Tahrir” has been deemed controversial and also banned in many countries due to some of their illegal activities.
We would like to reiterate to all our congregants to be careful and vigilant. Islamic Foundation of Toronto emphasizes that we must obey the law of the land and co-exist with fellow Canadians of all religions and backgrounds. We must make positive differences and contributions through lawful civic engagement.
We continue to denounce all forms of terrorism, hate and violence. We implore one and all to be sources of peace, understanding and harmony for everyone.
Hizb ut-Tahrir Canada calls for the establishment of the global Islamic State, the Caliphate, and the implementation of the Islamic Law, the Sharia. Its leaders, including in Canada, urge the Muslim armies to topple the current “corrupt” regimes in order to pave the way for uniting the Muslim world under the banner of the Caliphate.
“The Islamic system, through its revealed solutions to human problems – both individual and collective, is the only way to liberate mankind from the oppression of men to the Divine Justice of Allah. The loss of the Khilafah was a loss to both the Muslims and non-Muslims,” stated Hizb ut-Tahrir Canada. “If anything, this day [Remembrance Day] should be a reason to increase our efforts to resume the Islamic way of life by re-establishing the rightly-guided Khilafah in the Muslim lands, according to the method of the Prophet [Mohammad].”
