Hizb ut-Tahrir America will hold its annual Khilafah [Caliphate i.e. Islamic State] Conference in Chicago on April 22nd, 2018.
On April 6, 2018 the pro-Caliphate organization slammed on its official Facebook page the liberal values and secularism that “specifically target Muslims in the West” and strive to build a “secular Muslim identity” in complete contradiction to the teachings and spirit of Islam. The following are excerpts from Hizb ut-Tahrir America’s statement:
There is an assault on the Muslim mind and Muslims in the West are its prime targets. This attack on the Muslim mind seeks to build a Secular Muslim identity – one that works within the narrow confines of the secular liberal narratives on Islam. This new Secular Muslim identity is part of a long-standing effort to ‘reshape Islam from within’ that specifically targets Muslims in the West. We are seen as the frontline in the war of ideas against Islam.
Hence, the increasing pressures against Muslims to adopt Secularism, embrace Liberal values, abandon the unique Muslim identity and denounce ‘political Islam’. Moreover, the goal is to restrict our vision to being just a minority that must conform, rather than a part of the global Ummah [Muslim nation] that seeks its own alternative vision…
