Radical activists affiliated with Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) declared Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) centered on a few blocks in Seattle’s downtown. The sign on the barricades reads: “You are now leaving the USA.” Other sign read: “This space is now the property of the Seattle people,” “No Cop Co-Op” and “End White Supremacy Now!” A memorial was erected for people killed during “George Floyd Rebellion.”
On June 14, 2020 Andy Ngo, an independent journalist and an expert on Antifa and Black Live Matter, shared on Twitter a photocopy of a flyer being distributed in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). The flyer reads:
It’s irresponsible to claim that whites are engaging in all the violence and property minimizes the rage communities are completely justified in expressing. When you split protesters into violent and nonviolent categories, the former being criminal and the latter being legitimate, you’re engaging in respectability politics. People need food. People need clothes. People need to destroy their oppressor. Don’t shame or judge protesters who engage in looting or property destruction. It is a logical reaction to the social conditions and hopelessness capitalism has created. This is a textbook divide and conquer strategy, empowering liberals to dictate what is acceptable and co-opting this movement from radicals. If you promote revolutionary thought, then also promote revolutionary action. Destruction is necessary. Fuck peace. We are winning, and the only way we lose is if we lose our nerve.
“Destruction is necessary. F— peace.”
