Canadian Muslim scholar: “The West is a cesspool of moral corruption,” including homosexuality

January 22, 2019 by ACD

Mazin AbdulAdhim is a prominent Canadian Muslim scholar and Imam of Iraqi descent who is affiliated with the pro-Caliphate Islamic global movement of Hizb ut-Tahrir.On January 17, 2019 Mazin AbdulAdhim posted on his Facebook page the following:

The media heyday with #Rahaf Mohammed Al-Qanun has nothing to do with protecting refugees or resisting oppression or defending women’s rights or anything like that. Kids run away from abusive homes all the time. Rebellious teens run away from their parents all over the world. This isn’t anything unique. She isn’t given this attention because she is a woman fleeing oppression. She is given this attention because she is – in the eyes of the people of the West – a woman fleeing Islam, and that is why the media loves her. She is an opportunity to feed the West’s xenophobia. In other words, for the media, she is another Malala Yousafzai. Just like Malala was hailed a courageous survivor of the savage, male-dominated “Islamic” Pakistan, similarly Rahaf is being hailed a courageous survivor of the savage, male-dominated “Islamic” Saudi Arabia. It makes people in the West feel like their societies are superior, and it feeds their “white savior complex.” They look at this woman as an act of charity, and it affirms their delusion that they are the world’s bastion of civilized behavior – helping them to ignore the cesspool of corruption their societies are drowning in. #rahafmohammed #malalayousafzai #moreofthesame #LiberalSecularpropaganda

In the comments section to his own post Mazin AbdulAdhim wrote:

In terms of morality, the West is absolutely a cesspool of corruption and depravity. The Zina [fornication, adultery], pornography, homosexuality, drinking, drugs, etc, are not only widespread, but they are completely and totally accepted as normal – to the extent that anyone questioning or speaking out against these things are shunned and attacked. The Muslim lands are a saint-haven in comparison, except for whatever has been influenced by the West’s way of life.

[…]

I did not say a safe haven. I said it is like a *saint*-haven *compared* to the West. And I think I made it clear. I am not talking about the technology available here or the administrative organizing of society. I am talking about morality. The zina [fornication, adultery], the pornography, the prostitution, the drinking, [t]he drugs, the Kufr [heresy] and insulting of Prophets, you name it, they are widespread in the West far, far more than in any of the Muslim lands, and they are completely accepted here as normal and aren’t even considered wrong. Those who speak out against the zina [fornication, adultery], pornography, homosexuality, drinking, etc, are seen as an annoyance and they are told to mind their own business. It seems you are a bit too impressed by the technology of the West – which they have build on the carcasses of enslaved economies all over the world – and you seem to have lost sight of the festering rot that is at the core of these Kufr [heresy] societies. It’s like someone praising UAE [United Arab Emirates] for their “beautiful” technological advancement and luxuries, and forgetting the corruption, tyranny, betrayal, and the slavery that UAE was built upon.

[…]

If a person is looking for something to be scared of, they will find it. We discuss the Khilafah [Caliphate, or Islamic State], we discuss the corruption of Western governments, we discuss “Shari’a [Islamic] law,” we discuss many things that scares people due to the fear mongering by the media. But that should not cause us to water down our message or choose our words entirely based on the possible negative response of the weakest of society. The West is a cesspool of moral corruption and degradation. It’s a fact. If someone is reading this and shaking in their boots, then maybe they need to be more afraid of the reality than the person stating the reality.
